Augustin-Jean Moreau-Vauthier

Augustin Moreau-Vauthier, sculptor, was a member of the Federal Commission of Artists during the Paris Commune. Ironically, several of his works contributed to the reconstruction of Paris City Hall, which burned down on 24 May 1871. His son Paul (1871-1936) designed the wall commemorating the "Victims of the Revolutions" on Avenue Gambetta, in the square alongside the cemetery.
