Charles Amouroux (1843 - 1885)

Hatter. Member of the International Workers' Association. He opposed the Second Empire (condemned). After the proclamation of the Republic, he joined the national guard and was elected to the Central Committee. Also elected by the IVth arrondissement, he sat on the Council of the Commune (delegate for external relations). He was arrested on 21 May and sentenced to deportation deportation for life. Pardoned in 1880, he became a journalist, then town councillor and deputy for the Loire. (Medallion by the sculptor Dalou on his tombstone).
