Access: from the Columbarium, join and turn right onto Avenue Transversale n. 3. Cross Avenue Aguado and you will find a small, unnamed alley on your left, which opens next to the Edwards family grave. Follow this alley for a few metres and just behind the first line you will find Grousset's grave on the right. (Div. 89)
Journalist and editor-in-chief of La Marseillaise"of Rochefort. During the Commune, he was elected to the XVIIIth arrondissement and sat on the commission and became a member of the Executive Committee. He voted for the Comité de salut public. Condemned, he was deported to New Caledonia. He escaped on 21 March 1874 with Jourde and Rochefort and 4 other prisoners (the only escape). He lived in England and returned to France after the amnesty. He became a novelist and translator. He was elected as an independent socialist MP from 1893 until his death.
