Charles de Sivry remained in Paris during the Commune, where he worked in the Commune archives. He was taken prisoner by the Versaillais and locked up for the summer in the Satory camp. During his stay, a national guard was looking for a piano teacher for his nine-year-old son; Sivry recommended his own mother, Antoinette, who gave piano lessons to the young... Claude Debussy.
